Cabot Decorating have just completed decorating a hall and stairs in a cosy post-war home in Downend, Bristol.

I stripped off all the old blown vinyl wallpaper whilst retaining the original 50′s embossed ceiling paper.

I filled all the walls, rubbed them down and sized up before drop lining them using a 1000 grade lining paper.

Lining paper provides a sound surface for painting or finished wallpaper.

Another hall and stairs successfully transformed by Cabot Decorating.

The walls were painted with two coats of Dulux Almond White washable Diamond Matt finish.

Ding-Dong! This 1950′s door chime makes a statement.

           The glazed oak door and surround makes a nice contrast against the neutral walls.

The ceilings were repaired and made good before applying Brilliant White Vinyl Matt.

The doors and woodwork were prepared and painted with traditional White Satinwood.
