Early last month Cabot Painting and Decorating carried out some external redecorating near Pucklechurch in South Gloucestershire.

This hardwood conservatory hadn’t been treated for over 10 years! Some of the joinery was badly weathered and the sills had become denatured. I used a belt and orbital sander’s to take all the timber back to sound wood. The bare wood was primed using Sikkens Cetol HLS plus followed by two coats of Dulux Weathershield Ultimate Woodstain for up to 10 years protection.

I used Weathershield Ultimate for its high build properties ideal for neglected exterior woodwork  instead of the equivalent Sikkens Cetol Filter 7 which is a thinner product with a lower film thickness more suited to new joinery in my opinion.

 You can’t beat doing a nice bit of gloss work  on a sunny day. This double garage door was painted in traditional green colour Dulux Hollybush to match the front door to the property.
